Officer Hospitalized after DUI Crash on State Route 242 in Concord

Concord, CA (April 9, 2023) – Sunday night, a CHP officer sustained injuries in a suspected DUI crash on State Route 242.

The crash on State Route 242 in Concord happened around 8:22 p.m. on April 9.

Officers said an officer with CHP Contra Costa was conducting a stop on a Chevrolet on the right shoulder of southbound State Route 242, just south of State Route 4. 

Then a Mercedes heading south veered off the road and collided with the back of the parked Chevrolet.

The impact was so violent that the Chevrolet slammed into the CHP officer. 

EMS took the officer to a hospital and treated her for her injuries. CHP said she will make a full recovery.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Mercedes was not injured in the crash, but they were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
