CHP Officer Hurt in Ontario Car Accident on 15 Freeway
ONTARIO, CA (January 17, 2019) – A California Highway Patrol officer sustained minor injuries in a San Bernardino County accident on Tuesday, January 15.
The crash occurred at around 8:35 p.m. on the southbound 15 Freeway between 10 Freeway and Jurupa Avenue in Ontario.
Officer Mike Migliacci said that the 40-year-old male officer was sitting in his patrol vehicle while investigating an earlier accident when a 24-year-old driving a Chevrolet Malibu lost control on the wet highway and careened onto the shoulder, where the Malibu struck a tow truck and then collided into the patrol car.
According to Migliacci, the patrol car was pushed down an embankment, and the officer sustained minor injuries.
No additional information was released.
