1 Injured, Jorrell Yazzie Arrested after Crash on Dobson Road in Chandler

Chandler, AZ (May 29, 2023) – Monday morning, 68-year-old Chon Tran died, and one person sustained injuries in a crash on Dobson Road.

Subsequently, police arrested 29-year-old Jorrell Yazzie facing charges of manslaughter and aggravated assault.

The fatal crash on Dobson Road in Chandler happened on May 29.

According to Chandler Police, Yazzie was driving north on Dobson Road when he struck a Chevy Camaro. The impact caused the Camaro to collide with a third vehicle, a Toyota Camry. 

The driver of the Camry, Tran, died from her injuries.

The driver of the Camaro remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Yazzie was hospitalized with minor injuries but has already been released and taken to jail. Chandler Police say Yazzie is suspected of being intoxicated and that speed may have played a role in the original accident.

Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
