37-Year-Old Chirag Lilabhai Patel Dead After Motorcycle Crash on East Aviation Parkway in Tucson

Tucson, AZ (March 6, 2024) – On Tuesday morning, 37-year-old Chirag Lilabhai Patel died in a motorcycle crash on East Aviation Parkway.

Reportedly, Patel was riding his blue Yamaha motorcycle eastbound and attempted to make a left turn onto the eastbound 22nd Street ramp around 8 a.m., the Tucson Police Department reported in a news release. 

As Patel was making the turn, a 2010 Toyota Corolla traveling westbound struck him. 

According to witnesses, Patel had a green arrow for the left turn while the Corolla ran a red light, the news release stated. 

The 27-year-old female driver of the Corolla stopped immediately after the collision and cooperated with the investigation. 

Emergency services transported Patel to Banner University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. 

The Corolla’s driver received treatment for minor injuries at a local hospital, as per the news release. 

Officers confirmed that the driver was not impaired during the collision. 

Patel was wearing his helmet and possessed the appropriate motorcycle endorsement on his license, the news release confirmed.
