Children Injured in Interstate 35 Collision [San Antonio, TX]

Patients Transported in San Antonio Solo-Vehicle Crash

San Antonio, TX (September 2, 2024) – Children were hurt in an Interstate 35 collision Sunday night.

The traffic accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on the northbound freeway near Frost Bank Center Drive.

A mid-2000s SUV was northbound when a tire blew out. As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle and overcorrected a turn.

Afterward, the vehicle crashed into a tree and six children were ejected.

Officers said nine people were riding the vehicle, seven of them were children and only one child was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

SAPD determined some of the children incurred life-threatening injuries. The rescuers rushed them to a local hospital.

The children’s ages were from 2 to 11 years old.

In the meantime, the authorities are investigating the cause of the Interstate 35 collision.
