NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA (December 15, 2024) – Saturday morning, a child died in a horrific car crash on Interstate 5 near Interstate 80.

The crash happened at about 10:20 a.m. on northbound Interstate 5 near the Interstate 80 split.

Police reported that a silver Lexus “spun out and into a tree.”

Three individuals, including two juveniles and one adult, were transported to the hospital. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed that one of the juveniles, approximately eight years old, was pronounced dead.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
