10-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized after Struck by Vehicle at Guise Way

BRENTWOOD, CA (September 17, 2018) – On Monday morning, a child was critically injured in a pedestrian collision on Balfour Road.

According to reports, the collision took place around 7:44 AM at the intersection of Balfour and Guise Way. A 10-year-old girl was crossing the street when she struck by a car traveling eastbound on Balfour. She was walking northbound, across the road inside the designated crosswalk at the time.

The child suffered serious injuries and was flown to the UC Davis Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition. The driver remained at the scene and has cooperated with police officials during their investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be contributing factors in the incident.

No further details have been disclosed to the public as the investigation continues.
