DUI Crash on State Route 4 Injures 2-Year-Old Boy
Cowlitz County, WA (January 15, 2022) – On Thursday, a 2-year-old boy sustained injuries in a DUI crash on State Route 4 involving 65-year-old Lawrence Sanderson.
The troopers responded to the crash scene before 7:30 p.m. near 48th Avenue.
Officers said the toddler stepped into a lane of the freeway and was struck by a westbound 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Sanderson.
Immediately, the rescuers took the boy to an area hospital for treatment.
Officers said drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.
The authorities charged Sanderson with vehicular assault. Additional charges for Sanderson could be filed.
