Police Arrest Driver after Suspected DUI Crash in Brentwood Injures Child

 
BRENTWOOD, CA (August 30, 2019) – A child suffered injuries in a hit-and-run at Trailside Drive and Sunset Road Thursday morning.
 
The accident occurred at 7:05 am Thursday as per the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District officers. However, details about how the accident happened is unknown at this time. Paramedics requested a medical helicopter to transport the 12-year-old female patient with a head injury. After that, the helicopter landed at Sunset Park.
 
The driver of the vehicle left the scene after hitting the child. However, an officer located the 53-year-old female suspect sitting in the GMC suburban involved in the accident. In addition, police stated that the vehicle was in the parking lot within the 2100 block of Elkins Way.
 
The officers arrested the suspect and booked her into the Martinez Detention Facility. She faces felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence charges.
