Lifeguard Truck Runs Over Young Girl in Coronado
CORONADO, CA (July 8, 2019) – A child was hospitalized after they were hit by a lifeguard truck Monday evening on a California beach.
Around 6:15 p.m., two lifeguards patrolling in a pickup truck maneuvered around a berm near Dog Beach. There, the front and back tires on the vehicle’s driver’s side ran over the young girl.
A witness said the girl, believed to be around 4 years old, was crouched down in the sand when the truck hit her. Both tires on the driver’s side went over the child.
Lifeguards and paramedics provided aid, before they rushed the girl to Rady Children’s Hospital for further treatment. The child is now in stable condition.
The child’s mother and father were at the scene.
The Coronado Police Department is investigating the incident.
