Child Dies in Solo-Vehicle Crash on Business 80 [Sacramento, CA]

Sacramento, CA (May 24, 2024) – A child was killed following a solo-vehicle crash on Business 80 Thursday afternoon.

Responding officers said a southbound vehicle near Watt Avenue went off the roadway and struck a pole. 

The vehicle caught a fire that spread into the grass. Luckily, the fire fighters quickly extinguished the fire.

A child in the vehicle sustained critically injuries and died.

Moreover, the adult driver was transported to an area hospital with a complaint of pain. 

CHP officers did not say the relationship between the child and the driver.

Investigators do not suspect DUI in this collision.
