CLayla Lemas Fatally Struck and Killed by Vehicle Near Santee Drive in San Jose
San Jose, CA (January 01, 2021) – On New Year’s Eve, Layla Marie Lemas, 9, died riding an electric bike in an accident near Santee Drive and McQuesten Drive.
The officers responded to the crash scene at about 11:17 a.m. near Santee Elementary School.
The child was riding a scooter when struck and killed by a vehicle.
Authorities said the vehicle driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The fatal accident happened a day after a young girl was struck and killed by a vehicle being unloaded from a car carrier at a San Jose dealership.
