Hit-and-Run Collision on Monterey Street Near Fairfax Road Injures 10-Year-Old on Bike

Bakersfield, CA (August 14, 2021) – A hit-and-run collision on Monterey Street left a 10-year-old cyclist injured on Friday afternoon. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place on August 13 on Monterey Street near Fairfax Road.

Around 1 p.m., a vehicle reportedly hit the 10-year-old who was riding a bicycle in the area. However, it is currently unclear what events caused the collision. 

The juvenile sustained injuries to their foot however, the severity of the injuries is still unknown. 

Authorities have not released information about the identification of the vehicles involved.
