Three Injured in Quincy Vehicle Crash
Quincy, WA (May 11, 2022) – On Tuesday, just before 6:10 a.m., three people sustained injuries in a State Route 281 two-vehicle collision.
Officers responded to the crash scene at Road 5 Northwest in Grant County.
Officers said a 32-year-old Quincy man was driving his pickup truck on the freeway.
At the same time a 43-year-old Mattawa woman was northbound on the freeway with a 3-year-old.
Suddenly, the Quincy man lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway. He tried to regain control and overcorrected. His vehicle re-entered the roadway and crossed between the northbound and southbound lanes.
The Mattawa woman collided into the Quincy man’s vehicle in the northbound lane. Then, it rolled over and blocked the freeway into an embankment and started fire.
Immediately, the paramedics took the child and the Quincy man to Quincy Valley Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Later on, the rescuers airlifted the child to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
The rescuers took the woman to Central Washington Hospital.
Officers are investigating the collision.
