EL CAJON, CA (March 3, 2021) – Tuesday morning, 20-year-old Nadia Alatorre-McNeal died in an accident on Interstate 8 and North First Street.

The initial incident occurred at around 2:50 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 8 west of North First Street.

According to CHP Officer Travis Garrow, a 20-year-old San Diego woman drove a 2003 Toyota Matrix on the eastbound highway.

Then, for reasons still unknown, she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the center divide.

After crashing into the center wall, the Toyota was disabled in the right lane of the three-lane highway.

Afterward, the Toyota driver went out of the vehicle and stood near it. Meanwhile, a 24-year-old San Diego man driving a 2002 Infiniti G35 coupe crashed into the disabled Toyota. The impact sent the Toyota to hit the woman.

The impact of the crash sent the woman into the left lane on the eastbound Interstate 8. Then, two additional vehicles hit her.

As a result, authorities declared her dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld by the authorities due to pending family notification.

Moreover, responders took the Infiniti driver to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment of major but non-life-threatening injuries.
