Male Motorcyclist Hurt in Fatal Solo-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10
Desert Hot Springs, CA (September 8, 2023) On Thursday morning, 68-year-old Cheryl McCoy of Phoenix died in a motorcycle accident on I-10.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal solo-vehicle crash happened around 11:25 a.m. on the westbound side ofInterstate 10, east of the Palm Drive exit.
Reports say that McCoy was a passenger in a Harley Davidson on the #1 lane traveling at 70 MPH.
Authorities say that the motorcycles rear tire separated, causing the bike to veer to the left and overturn.
Both driver and passenger sustained injuries due to the crash, medics transported both patients to the hospital, where McCoy succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
CHP is investigating the fatal crash.
