Cheryl Dodgin of Burney Dies in US 395 Crash [Lassen County, CA]

Lassen County, CA (August 24, 2021) – On Tuesday, 54-year-old Cheryl Dodgin of Burney, died, while 54-year-old Heidi Cruz of Burney, and 55-year-old Robert Sisk, also of Burney, were injured in US 395 crash.

The rollover crash took place at about 4 p.m. near Susanville—north of Litchfield.

Investigating officers said Sisk was northbound on the freeway, north of Deep Cut Road. For reasons still being investigated, his vehicle drifted to the left into the southbound lane and onto the west dirt shoulder.

Sisk tried to correct the vehicle but was unable control the car and it flipped. 

Dodgin, one of his passengers, was laying in the car’s back seat without a seatbelt. Dodgin was thrown his vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

Sisk and Cruz, his other passenger, also sustained minor injuries .

Rescuers rushed both of them to Banner Lassen Medical Center for complaints of pain.
