Cheryl Anderson Dies after Crash near 44th Avenue and Indian School Road in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (September 27, 2021) – Sunday night, a  63-year-old Cheryl Anderson died and three others sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash near 44th Avenue and Indian School Road.

The fatal two-vehicle crash in Phoenix happened at around 10:45 p.m. on September 27. 

Phoenix Police said the collision involved a Kia Soul and a Hyundai Sonata. Reportedly, a Kia Soul was driving south on 45th Avenue and was making a left turn onto Indian School Road when it crashed with a Hyundai Sonata that was driving west on Indian School Road. 

Both adults in the Kia were taken to the hospital. One of those adults was Anderson who died from her injuries at the hospital. 

Moreover,  three of six people inside the Hyundai ran from the crash. One of the three that fled the scene was later found, taken to the hospital but left before getting treatment. 

EMS took the other three people inside the Hyundai to the hospital with unknown injuries. 

Police added that the driver of the Kia did not have any signs of impairment but believe that impairment was a factor on behalf of the driver of the Hyundai.

The investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
