Charles Dale Porter Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Torrey Pines Road
La Jolla, CA (January 08, 2021) – On Thursday, 19-year-old Charles Porter died in a tragic motorcycle crash on Torrey Pines Road.
The fatal accident happened at about 1:15 p.m. midway between La Jolla Parkway and La Jolla Village Drive.
He was speeding on a 2019 Honda motorcycle when he lost control.
As a result, his motorcycle struck the wall dividing the northbound and southbound lanes. Then, he was thrown from his motorcycle onto the opposite side of the street.
Subsequently, a 79-year-old woman driving a 2014 Acura SUV struck him.
The motorcyclist died at the scene. The San Diego Coroner revealed the identity of the Camp Pendleton resident.
Moreover, officers closed Torrey Pines Road until about 5:30 p.m. as they investigated the incident.
