40-Year-Old Diamond Bar Man Fatally Struck by Motorhome near Sierra Avenue
FONTANA, CA (September 23, 2018) – A man was killed Sunday morning following a pedestrian collision near Sierra Avenue. The victim was later identified as 40-year-old Charles Jackson III, a resident of Diamond Bar.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 9:26 AM. The pedestrian was standing near the bridge when he purposely ran into traffic on southbound Interstate 15. He was then struck by an RV, followed by another vehicle.
Jackson sustained fatal injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. A coroner was immediately dispatched to conduct a full report. It is unknown whether or not the drivers stopped at the site of the crash to cooperate with investigators.
An investigation is being handled by the Rancho Cucamonga CHP to determine the cause of the collision and to identify possible contributing factors. No other information has been disclosed to the public at this time.
