1 Dead in Shasta County Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 299 near Whiskeytown Visitor Center
SHASTA COUNTY, CA (June 9, 2022) – Wednesday morning, a deadly big rig crash on Highway 299 near Whiskeytown Center involved Charles French.
The incident involving a big rig and a vehicle happened at around 7:40 a.m. According to the CHP, an F-15- driver traveled east and crossed over the lines. Then, it crashed into a semi-truck and the semi caught fire. Meanwhile, the driver managed to get out with no injuries.
Also, responders took the F-150 driver, Charles French of Redding, to the hospital with major injuries. Meanwhile, the passenger in the French’s truck succumbed to injuries.
Moreover, the fire didn’t spread to vegetation.
Furthermore, the CHP investigates whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
