1 Dead in Foothill Farms Multi-Vehicle Accident on Elkhorn Boulevard and Andrea Boulevard

FOOTHILL FARMS, CA (August 29, 2024) – Friday afternoon, 76-year-old Charles Bourassa died in a crash on Elkhorn Boulevard.

The incident occurred at about 2:40 p.m. on Elkhorn Boulevard, east of Andrea Boulevard.

A pickup truck driver heading east rear-ended a van after failing to notice the vehicle in front, according to Officer Justin Fetterly, a spokesperson for CHP’s North Sacramento office. 

Then, the collision forced the van into a pole, and its driver was immediately taken to the hospital, Fetterly said. The pickup truck then collided with a sedan that was also traveling in the same direction ahead of the van. While the drivers of the pickup and sedan were uninjured, the van’s driver, identified as 76-year-old Bourassa from Sacramento, passed away later that Saturday in the hospital, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
