29-Year-Old Lake Stevens Man Struck and Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash Possibly
GRANITE FALLS, WA (January 28, 2018) – A driver hits and kills a man on a motorcycle, on Sunday evening around 6PM, at a roundabout at Quarry and Burn Roads.
The man was identified as 29-year-old Chad William Keeler.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a Mazda Navajo was tailgating another vehicle on Route 92, with a motorcycle in front. When approaching a roundabout the Mazda drove around the car in front and over a raised medium. He then drove over another concrete medium and accelerated, hitting the motorcyclist and killing him on the scene.
The 22-year-old driver was Lars Syfert Kundu from Lake Stevens. He approached an eyewitness on the scene of the accident, and sprayed them with pepper spray before fleeing from the site of the crash. The other passenger car tried to avoid the crash and drove into a ditch.
Authorities stopped the man about a mile and half from the incident on Route 92 and 84th Street. The man has been arrested and booked in jail for vehicular manslaughter. According to Trooper H. Axtman, the man had reportedly used Marijuana earlier on the same day.
Investigation continues on this fatal motorcycle accident.
