Toddler Injured in Tuolumne County Auto Accident on 23200 Joaquin Gully Road
TUOLUMNE COUNTY, CA (April 28, 2024) – Monday afternoon, 27-year-old Chace Bailey was arrested following a startling DUI crash on 23200 Joaquin Gully Road.
The incident happened last April 22nd, at around 10:20 p.m. when Bailey drove a 2023 Mazda 3 sedan eastbound in the 23200 block of Joaquin Gully Road, east of Cherokee Drive in Twain Harte, at around 55 miles per hour.
In the back seat of the vehicle was a 3-year-old passenger, although the relationship between them and the driver was not disclosed by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Officer Steve Machado, a spokesperson for CHP, stated, “Bailey lost control of her vehicle, and it traveled off the roadway, smashing into a tree. Bailey herself remained uninjured; however, her passenger, who was improperly placed in a child restraint seat, sustained minor injuries.”
Machado added that the child was released to a sober party for their safety. Subsequent investigation determined that Bailey was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Thus, she was arrested on multiple felony DUI charges, including intoxication that could cause great bodily injuries.
