24-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Killed by On-Duty CHP Officer near Cherry Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (October 27, 2019) – Authorities identified 24-year-old Cezannie Mount as the pedestrian killed in a crash on Del Amo Boulevard, Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 4:40 AM. Mount attempted to cross outside of a marked crosswalk when a westbound CHP motorcycle struck him. Then, the pedestrian landed in the number one lane.
Emergency responders pronounced Mount dead at the scene after he suffered blunt force trauma. Meanwhile, an ambulance rushed the CHP officer to Long Beach Memorial Hospital. He remains in the intensive care unit after sustaining head trauma.
