Cesario Nepomoceno Dies, Humberto Gonzalez Involved in Keyes Crash
Keyes, CA (November 24, 2021) – On Sunday, 22-year-old Cesario Nepomoceno of Merced lost his life, while 38-year-old Humberto Gonzalez of Turlock was involved in a pedestrian accident on State Route 99.
It was about 1:40 p.m. north of E Keyes Road when the fatal incident happened.
Officers said Gonzalez and his passenger, a 17-year old male juvenile, were southbound on State Route 99 in a Lincoln Sedan.
Apparently, Gonzalez was driving at approximately 70 miles per hour. At the same time, Nepomoceno was crossing the freeway in an eastbound direction.
Nepomoceno was able to get across the right and middle lanes before Gonzalez struck him on the left lane.
Investigators said that Gonzalez attempted to avoid Nepomoceno. However, it was already late.
Meanwhile, the authorities are still investigating the crash. It is still unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this accident.
