Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Fatal Pedestrian Collision near East Katella Avenue
ORANGE, CA (October 23, 2018) – A woman was killed Tuesday morning following a hit-and-run crash near East Katella Avenue. The victim was later identified as 58-year-old Celsa Anaya by the authorities.
According to officers with the Orange Police Department, the incident took place at about 6:30 AM on Glassell Street. The pedestrian was on her way to work in a marked crosswalk when a white pickup struck her.
Paramedics rushed Anaya to a nearby hospital for treatment and medical evaluation. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff. Meanwhile, the pickup driver did not stop to render aid and continued to drive east on Katella Avenue. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the vehicle and/or the driver is asked to contact Detective Craig Brown at (714) 744-7342 or the Police Department at (714) 744-7444.
No further details have been provided to the public, as an investigation is ongoing.
