69-Year-Old Altadena Woman Fatally Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision near Mountain Avenue
GLENDALE, CA (May 11, 2018) – On Friday afternoon around 1:50 PM, a fatal accident involving a big rig occurred on the 2 Freeway. The deceased woman was identified as 69-year-old Celeste Milby of Altadena.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Milby was driving northbound on the highway in a 2004 Acura MDX, when she attempted to make an exit at the Mountain Street off-ramp. She was traveling at unknown speeds and made a left turn, going down the off-ramp embankment and into the path of a 2012 Peterbilt truck.
The Acura struck the side of the big rig in the No. 5 lane, and both cars crashed into the center divider. Milby suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, where she was later pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
