31-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies in Head-On Crash near Cooley Street, Christopher Villanueva Arrested
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (August 19, 2018) – A woman was killed early Sunday morning following a motorcycle crash on West 5th Street. The victim was later identified as 31-year-old Catrina Ratley of San Bernardino.
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at approximately 5:20 AM near Cooley Street. A vehicle was traveling east on W 5th Street when it veered into the westbound lanes and collided head-on with Ratley’s motorcycle.
The impact of the crash fatally injured Ratley, and she was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medics. Meanwhile, the driver, identified as 27-year-old San Bernardino resident Christopher Villanueva, was arrested on suspicion of murder and driving while under the influence. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
No additional information has been disclosed to the public, as an investigation is ongoing.
