1 Person Dead in Amarillo Auto Accident near Interstate 40 and Grand North Frontage Road
AMARILLO, TX (April 3, 2024) – Monday morning, Catherine White died in a devastating traffic crash near Interstate 40.
The incident happened at around 11:00 a.m. near Interstate 40 and Grand North Frontage Road.
According to reports, a northbound black Toyota FJ Cruiser struck the driver’s side of a westbound black and red Pontiac G6. Then, the Toyota collided with a white F-150 that was stopped at the red light.
Moreover, responders rushed the driver of the Pontiac, identified as 63-year-old White, to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Also, paramedics transported the driver of the F-150 to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Furthermore, authorities closed the area of the crash to give way to responders. All lanes have long since reopened.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the Amarillo Police continued to investigate the crash.
