Injuries Reported in Lake Almanor Golf Cart Accident on Lake Almanor West Drive
LAKE ALMANOR, CA (September 17, 2024) – Saturday morning, Cassidy Cushing sustained injuries in a startling golf cart crash on Lake Almanor West Drive.
The incident occurred at about 3:15 a.m. as Riley Silveria of San Francisco drove a two-seat golf cat west on Lake Almanor West Drive from Long Iron Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, there were four additional passengers on the golf cart when Silveira made a left turn, causing Cushing of Martinez, who was seated in the right rear, to be thrown from the vehicle.
Cushing sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Enloe Medical Center for treatment. Silveira was arrested at the scene for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the CHP.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
