Cassandra Molina Dead in Tucson Pedestrian Accident
TUCSON, AZ (November 26, 2019) – A 25-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on Broadway Boulevard on November 22.
25-year-old Cassandra Molina tried to cross Broadway Boulevard in a crosswalk when a vehicle struck her. Unfortunately, Molina died after being taken to Banner University Medical Center.
The incident occurred just after 2:30 a.m. and the authorities shut down the northbound Campbell Avenue and eastbound Broadway Boulevard for four hours during the investigation. Meanwhile, the vehicle driver remained at the scene.
According to investigators, Cassandra Molina walked eastbound on Broadway Boulevard crossing Campbell Avenue in a crosswalk. After that, she crossed against the red light while talking on her cell phone. As a result, a GMC SUV traveling through the intersection on green light hit her.
The driver stopped and helped with the investigation. Authorities ruled out impairment and speed as a factor in the crash.
The authorities are also handling the crash investigations and they did not charge or issue citations.
