Casey Wagoner and Madrone Jackson Dead in Gasquet Car Accident
GASQUET, CA (March 17, 2019) – Two teenagers died after a vehicular crash in northern California at Smith River on Thursday, March 14.
Del Norte County Sheriff’s Department released the names of the deceased victims. They identified the driver as 17-year-old Casey Wagoner and the sole passenger as 19-year-old Madrone Jackson. Both were residents of Josephine County.
According to California Highway Patrol, they discovered a white Volkswagen Jett partly submerged in the Smith River between Gasquet and Patrick Creek. They found both Wagoner and Jackson dead at the scene.
Traffic on Highway 199 near milepost 19 was reduced during the on-scene investigation.
Authorities are still determining the reason behind the incident.
