One Dead and One Injured in Crash on Interstate 90
GEORGE, WA (January 7, 2018) – Washington State Patrol reported a fatal accident involving one vehicle, a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, around 2 AM Sunday morning.
41-year-old Palisades man, Casey K. Crockett, was killed in the incident. It was reported that he was not wearing a seat belt.
Officer reports state that the Jeep was going westbound on the 90 freeway about 6 miles from George, when it swerved and crossed the median lanes into oncoming traffic. The vehicle rolled and came to a stop on the eastbound shoulder near milepost 156. No other vehicles were involved.
Driver, 53-year-old George Wistos of Wenatchee, used a seatbelt and was not injured in the accident. A second passenger, Palisades woman Tina Thorn, 46, was seriously injured and taken to the Quincy Valley medical center. Like Crockett, she was also not wearing a seat belt.
Officials do not think that drugs or alcohol were involved in the solo car crash.
