Cary Williams Fatally Injured after Riverdale Motorcycle Crash
RIVERDALE, CA (August 14, 2019) – Officials identified Cary Williams as the man killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, August 11.
The crash took place about 2:30 p.m. on Highway 41 south of Riverdale.
The accident happened when 45-year-old Gurpreet Singh Manger, of Lemoore, was southbound of Highway 41 north of Harlan Avenue.
Manger drove the 2017 Land Rover at a speed estimated to be 60 mph into the northbound lane of the highway to pass slower traffic. 49-year-old Cary Williams, of Fresno, rode a 2001 Honda 929 motorcycle northbound. Then Manger tried the maneuver and lost control as he approached the oncoming SUV. Williams laid the motorcycle down on its right side and crashed with the Land Rover.
Williams sustained severe trauma. Citizens at the scene tried CPR, but he died at the scene.
CHP said that neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have played a role in the crash. Manger was not arrested. Williams wore a one-half face helmet, boots, and gloves.
