One Vehicle Overturns in 5-Vehicle Crash on 91 Freeway in Carson Leaving One Dead
CARSON, CA (April 2, 2019) – A woman was killed following a multi-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on 91 Freeway in Carson.
The fatal crash was reported at 3:10 p.m. on the westbound side of the freeway at Avalon Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, five vehicles, including a white Kia Soul and a tan Toyota Camry, collided. The impact caused one of the cars to overturn on its roof, blocking all freeway lanes.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and found a female occupant with fatal injuries. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
At least one other person was injured and taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.
The crash shut down all westbound freeway lanes at Avalon Boulevard with traffic diverted at Central Avenue. All lanes were re-opened just before 7:00 p.m.
There were no official reports stating what caused the crash or how it exactly transpired. Authorities are looking further into the accident.
