54-Year-Old Woman Dead in Vancouver Car Accident on 78th Street
VANCOUVER, WA (February 26, 2020) – A 54-year-old woman identified as Carolyn Clark-Bennet from Washougal, died in a car accident on 78th Street.
According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the collision happened in the 3600 block of Northeast 78th Street at around 7:30 p.m.
Deputies also revealed that Clark-Bennett turned left in the crossover from King’s Way Christian Schools onto 78th Street. However, Clark-Bennet’s Ford Flex then drove directly into the path of a Dodge 2500 pickup. The pickup then crashed into the Flex’s driver’s side.
Responders took the four occupants in the pickup truck to hospitals for further treatment for their injuries.
Meanwhile, the Stevenson-Carson School District announced that there will be counselors and members of the local Trauma Intervention Program present throughout the day at their secondary schools. If parents wish to keep students home, they can contact them to excuse the absence.
Carolyn was an associate principal in the Stevenson High School and Wind River Middle School. Carolyn “Suz” Clark-Bennett also served as the Skamania County Coalition Coordinator.
“Today will be a hard day, so will tomorrow and many following. However, we will carry one another during this difficult time,” the district stated.
