44-Year-Old Carolee Dwer Killed in W Cypress Forest Drive Collision [Cypress Forest, TX]

Cypress Forest, TX (August 29, 2023) – On Sunday, 44-year-old Carolee Dwer sustained fatal injuries following a W Cypress Forest Drive collision.

Officers said that at about 9 p.m. a Ford Explorer driven by by 33-year-old Joshua Ivie left the roadway while traveling at a high rate of speed on W Cypress Forest Drive near Cypresswood Drive.

When Ivie veered off the road, he allegedly struck Dwer walking in the area and then crashed into a nearby home. Dwer’s vehicle pinned Dwer against a wall.

Apparently, Dwer was visiting from out of state, and it was her first day here when the accident happened.

“The driver got out of the vehicle, he grabbed something out of the passenger side of the vehicle, and I tried to speak with him to see if he was okay and he started taking off from the scene of the crime. He told me to back up off of him and brandished a weapon,” a witness said.

Authorities said Ivie fled the scene after the crash but was later arrested.

Ivie has been charged with FSRA (death) and Felon in Possession of a Weapon and is currently booked in the Harris County Jail.
