Stockton Woman Carole Kooyers Killed in Highway 99 DUI Crash
Galt, CA (May 03, 2021) – On Sunday, a 29-year-old female passenger, Carole Kooyers of Stockton, died in a DUI crash on Highway 99.
Moreover, officers responded to the fatal DUI accident at about 3:45 a.m. north of Twin Cities Road.
The 37-year-old male driver from Stockton turned left and struck a wood post-metal guardrail in the center median. Then, the car overturned on the dirt shoulder.
Consequently, the passenger was thrown from the vehicle and the officers pronounced her dead at the scene.
On the other hand, officers took the driver to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
Authorities said neither of the two was wearing their seatbelt during the accident.
After conducting a DUI check, officers arrested the driver while still in the hospital. Officers took him to the Sacramento County Main Jail after being released from the hospital.
