Carole Escajeda Dead After Crash on Waddell Road and Sarival Avenue in Surprise

Surprise, AZ (April 10, 2024) – On Tuesday, 87-year-old Carole Escajeda died in a crash on Waddell Road and Sarival Avenue.

EMS rushed to the scene just after 1 p.m. at a Costco store near Waddell Road and Sarival Avenue, where they discovered Escajeda with serious injuries. 

Despite paramedics’ efforts, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene. V

Video footage from Arizona’s Family’s news chopper revealed a section of the parking lot cordoned off near the store’s entrance.

Surprise police said that the driver involved in the incident remained at the scene. Additionally, there were no signs of impairment or reckless driving. 

Authorities released the individual without filing any charges.

Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
