Carmen Torres Chavira Struck and Killed by Vehicle on East McKinley Avenue

 
Fresno, CA (March 26, 2021) – On Thursday, Carmen Torres Chavira, 76, died in a tragic pedestrian accident on East McKinley Avenue.
 
The fatal incident took place at about 8:15 p.m. at the North Millbrook Avenue intersection.
 
Furthermore, officers said the victim appeared to be drinking prior to the crash.
 
The pedestrian was heading south on East McKinley Avenue when he crossed the street. He was not on the crosswalk when the accident happened.
 
Right away, rescuers rushed him to the Community Regional Medical Center with severe injuries. However, he died from his injuries at about 10 p.m.
 
Meanwhile, the car driver was not impaired and was driving within the speed limit. Sadly, he was unable to avoid the accident.
 
The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
