Driver Found Dead in Saturday Rollover on Highway 395 at Trona Road
JOHANNESBURG, CA (February 8, 2020) – A woman was killed following a rollover crash Saturday morning in Kern County, CHP officials said.
Dispatchers responded to the fatal crash around 6:49 a.m., on Highway 395 at Trona Road.
Upon arrival, officers located the female victim in her overturned vehicle in a desert near Trona Road.
According to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office the deceased victim was identified as 41-year-old Carmen Quijana of Escondido. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Initially, the circumstances leading up to the crash were not immediately available. However, the Mojave Office of the California Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident at this time.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked in the area. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
