43-Year-Old Tustin Woman Fatally Injured in Head-On Collision near Main Street and 55 Freeway
IRVINE, CA (July 3, 2018) – A woman was killed Tuesday afternoon following a head-on collision in Irvine. Orange County Coroner’s Office identified 43-year-old Carmella Vann, of Tustin, as the victim in this incident.
According to Irvine Police, the crash took place shortly after 3 PM. They received reports about the collision of two vehicles in the area of the 55 Freeway and Main Street. Events leading to the collision were not immediately available.
Vann, determined to be one of the drivers involved, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries. The identity and the current condition of the injured driver were not revealed.
Authorities confirmed that the drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal accident. No other information has been disclosed to the public at this time.
