18-Year-Old Driver Injured in Santa Cruz Fatal Crash
Scotts Valley, CA (March 31, 2022) On 18-year-old Carlton Keegan from Scotts Valley died after the vehicle he is riding fell off an embankment on Granite Creek Road.
Officials say that the 2006 Subaru drove off an embankment and crashed into a tree near the 300 block of Granite Creek Road at around 3:41 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) say that Subaru landed on its roof and Keegan and the 18-year-old male driver suffered major injuries.
Rescuers took Keegan and the driver to Dominican Hospital.
Unfortunately, Keegan succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital.
The CHP is investigating the crash and has not ruled impairment out as a factor in the crash.
