Carlos Tovar Seriously Hurt in Solo-Car Crash on Loop 289 [Lubbock, TX]

Lubbock, TX (September 14, 2023) On Thursday morning, 46-year-old Carlos Tovar was hospitalized, while 36-year-old Fernando Gonzalez-Gonzalez died in a solo-car crash on Loop 289.

According to the authorities the single-vehicle crash happened near I-27 and North Loop 289 at around 3 a.m.

Reports say that Gonzalez-Gonzalez was driving an SUV on the entrance ramp to I-27 when he crossed the northbound lanes of the roadway and crashed into the middle concrete median.

Officials say that Gonzalez-Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene, while Tovar was transported to UMC with serious injuries.
