Washington Man Killed in Stolen Car Crash on 14th Avenue South
BURIEN, WA (September 23, 2019) – Authorities identified 44-year-old Carlos Recinos of Washington as the man killed in a head-on crash on 14th Avenue South, Monday morning.
According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at about 8:00 AM. A stolen Subaru Legacy crossed fully into the oncoming lane, where it collided with a pickup truck.
Recinos, who was on his way to work, died at the scene. Members of his family were driving a couple of minutes behind and encountered the scene before police arrived.
Meanwhile, emergency responders transported the driver of the stolen vehicle to Harborview Medical Center with several broken bones. Once released from the hospital, authorities will book him into jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Authorities continue to investigate the fatal incident. Those with information about this accident should cooperate as soon as possible. Investigators will release additional details to the public once they become available.
