Late Evening Hit-and-Run Crash in San Bruno Leads to Injuries
SAN BRUNO, CA (May 22, 2019) – One person was arrested following a hit-and-run crash late Wednesday evening in San Bruno, police said.
The crash was reported at 11:06 p.m. in the 800 block of Hensley Avenue. Police said a Scion tC sedan had crashed into several parked vehicles and witnesses saw several people had fled the scene.
Not long afterward, CHP received another report about a person had been carjacked not far from the crash site.
An investigation determined the caller had not been carjacked, but rather was the Scion driver, a 19-year-old Carlos Enrique Gomez Perez of South San Francisco.
Police arrested Perez on suspicion of hit-and-run and filing a false police report. Perez was booked into San Mateo County Jail.
Passengers that were in the Scion were injured and transported to a hospital. The number of patients was not immediately known.
The incident remains under investigation.
