34-Year-Old Carlos Lopez Dead After Motorcycle Crash on Saint Mary’s Road in Tucson

Tucson, AZ (March 18, 2024) – On Saturday, 34-year-old Carlos Lopez died in a motorcycle crash on Saint Mary’s Road.

According to officers, Lopez was heading westbound in the median lane on St. Mary’s Rd. near N. Freeway when a Hyundai, attempting to make a left onto the freeway, collided with him. 

At the time of the crash, Lopez, who wore a helmet, was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. 

Investigators at the scene found that Daniela Marquez-Batista, the 33-year-old Hyundai driver, was not impaired. 

However, she did not have the right of way when she collided with Lopez. Further investigations revealed that Lopez did not possess a valid driver’s license at the time of the accident. 

Authorities cited Marquez-Batista for Causing Death by Moving Violation.
