2 Dead in Bakersfield Car Accident on CA 223
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 27, 2019) – Two people died in a car accident on Highway 223 on December 20 in South Bakersfield.
44-year-old Carla Latrice Strother and another person died in a cat accident at about 6:53 a.m. south of Highway 223 on South Union Avenue. Another person also suffered major injuries.
The California Highway Patrol revealed that a white pickup truck traveled north in the southbound lane of Union Avenue. However, it struck a Honda sedan traveling on Highway 223.
Meanwhile, the truck’s passenger sustained injuries and went to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities believe that the incident is due to driving under the influence.
