CARDIFF, CA – One Killed in 2-Vehicle Accident on 5 Freeway

Fatal Pickup Truck Collision near Manchester Avenue in Cardiff

 
CARDIFF, CA (March 8, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a two-vehicle accident on 5 Freeway, early Friday morning.
 
The fatal collision happened around 1:13 a.m., on northbound 5 Freeway. First responders arrived to the scene near Manchester Avenue soon after.
 
Details surrounding the collision were not made clear in reports, but a black Nissan Frontier and a silver sedan were both recovered on the right shoulder of the freeway.
 
Responding paramedics took at least one victim to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. Despite life-saving efforts, the unidentified victim was declared dead.
 
There were no descriptions of any vehicular damages, however both vehicles were towed and used for evidence.
 
It is currently unknown whether or not drugs and alcohol played a role in the collision. Further investigation is underway to determine more details.
